Fresh new look for the music school!

We are in the midst of an exciting first week of music lessons for the fall semester. We also have spent the last few weeks redesigning the school thanks to the help of local artist Emily Ashman from The Illustrated Room. We have so many fun things going on at the school this semester; lots of private lessons, ensembles, a new art class (starting in November) and a children’s choir which just had their first week last Wednesday.

Fall 2026 music lesson sign-ups starting our 14th year!

Now opening up sign-ups for September, kicking off our 14th year of music lessons in downtown Leominster! If you’ve been taking lessons with us over the summer, now’s a good time to lock in your spot for fall before the schedule fills up. And if you’ve been thinking about starting lessons but haven’t yet, September is a great time to jump in and get going.

We are also going to be having bands, ensembles and a children’s chorus where students can play and sing together. This was a new program we started last year and we loved it!

Very much looking forward to starting the new school year, we have so many exciting things happening and ideas for 2026/2027!

Spring Music Lessons 2026

Hello Leominster Music students! We are starting to wind down the spring semester at Monument Square Music school and are excited to prepare for the end of the year recital. Lessons are still available for enrollment for the end of spring, and the summer sessions will begin July 5th! Ensembles are ongoing and we are working on a lot of different material such as jazz, bossa, reggae, pop and have some amazing students attending. We had great ensemble sessions for our first three weeks and are looking forward to more. The end of the year performance is in June!

Now Starting Small Bands & Ensembles Program at Monument Square Community Music School!

Hi Music friends! As spring time is approaching, everyone here at Monument Square Music school is excited about a new program and great opportunity for students that will be starting soon! As of April, we will be starting ensembles and bands for students interested in the opportunity of playing and learning music in a group setting! There will be weekly rehearsals coordinated by our great ensemble instructors and a performance! This program will run from April though the end of the school semester in June, so don’t miss out on this great musical opportunity. Winter/spring music lessons 2026!

Welcome to 2026! We are excited to welcome new and returning students to take lessons for the semester at Monument Square Community Music School. The school offers private music lessons in Leominster for all ages and levels. We offer classes on piano, voice, guitar, violin, cello,  saxophone, drums, bass, trumpet, and teach a wide  range of genres, such as jazz, classical, contemporary, and pop. Our teachers are taking in new registrations for in person lessons! The school is excited to announce our new music teachers:

  • Aiden Lizotte  graduated with  a B.D. in Sound Recording Technology at UML and is an instructor for the guitar, piano, and trumpet.
  • Amanda Sennett is a voice instructor and a recent graduate of Keene State College, where she received her B.D. in Theatre and Dance.
  • Abigail McCarthy is a wonderful violinist and studied at UMass Amherst

Also, we are starting small bands and ensembles in March for ages 10 and up! We are really excited to start an ensembles program at the school and we think it’s a great way to learn music; playing and performing with other students under the direction of a teacher.

Music Lessons at the Downtown Leominster parade!

We had a great time participating in the Halloween parade this year, sharing music lessons with students from Leominster and the surrounding areas—including Sterling, Fitchburg, Lancaster, and Lunenburg! It was wonderful to see all the kids in their amazing costumes, pass out candy, and offer mini music lessons on a variety of instruments, including piano, voice, drums, ukulele, violin, cello, sax, trumpet, and bass guitar. How cool is it that these events happen right outside our store front!

One of our favorite moments was improvising on some Halloween jams—students and teachers played piano and drums together, creating a fun little spooky jam session! Events like these are a fantastic way to connect with the community and inspire a new generation of musicians.

Get Ready for Fall Music Lessons!

Welcome back to another year of music lessons in Leominster at Monument Square Community Music School! Classes start on September 9, 2024, and year after year, we are stunned by the amazing talent that walks through our doors. Finishing up 2024 spring semester and getting ready for summer music lessons!

We will be wrapping up our regular school year towards the end of June and getting ready for our summer music lessons which start on July 8. What a year it’s been! There have been so many amazing students coming through our doors every week and watching the students improve is always great experience. We’ve added several talented teachers to our faculty, who we are very excited about and we are working on some thrilling plans for the upcoming summer and school year. For now we are concentrating on the June recital and getting teacher’s summer schedules locked in. Here’s a picture of our store front in downtown Leominster where it’s always a pleasure to teach music lessons, and where we feel like we are a part of something special in the Leominster scene!
