Group Classes for children ages 1-5
In our interactive “Kiddie Music Time” children’s music class toddlers and young children can get their first taste of music through songs, games, and dance. Many of the songs are written by Stephanie Rogers, the Kiddie Music Time specialist and voice teacher. She tailors her songs to the age group and songs are written to teach specific music subjects. This gives the children a unique experience while still throwing in many of the children’s classics! There is also always a live accompanist, usually a pianist as well as other professional musicians who join the class as special guests. We think it is important for the kids to feel the energy of live music and it is amazing to see how strongly the kids respond to it.
Whether learning a new instrument or singing along to the piano, kids will gain artistic and musical skills often neglected in mainstream education:
- Tapping rhythm in perfect time
- Singing in tune
- Familiarity with different music styles and rhythms including jazz, rock, and latin
- Creativity and exploration with music
- Dancing
- Correct vocal technique (breathing exercises and vocal warm-ups)
- Introduction to piano and percussion instruments
- And the list goes on!
This fun-filled 45-minute sessions is the perfect way for parents and children to bond over a mutual love of music.
