Interested in pop, jazz, or classical music? Our talented instructors can help you achieve the sound you want!
As you get back into the swing of the school year, consider adding an instrument to your child’s list of extracurriculars! Studies show that music has a positive impact on young minds, helping them excel in other school studies like math and reading. Our one-on-one approach means that every student, no matter their age, gets a personalized lesson to their needs and interests.
Learning an instrument is a fun activity that engages the brain and the body, and it fills the house with some great tunes!
We now have openings for piano, voice, guitar, bass, saxophone, and more!
Happy New Year, Leominster! As we welcome you back from the holidays, we’re excited to continue your musical journey at Monument Square Community Music School. Here, music fills our days, and learning is always in harmony!

Next year is our 10th anniversary of being a music school and offering awesome music lessons in the Leominster area, and it has been amazing to watch our teachers and students grow throughout the years. Some of our students have even been with us the entire time and we have had the privilege of watching them grow and develop into incredible musicians. Our teachers have done amazing things musically and creatively as performers and teachers. We definitely encourage you to read through our faculty biographies and give search our teachers. Their is a lot of amazing music coming from these talented people! faculty bios.
Encouraging and nurturing the development of students and watching teacher’s progress throughout their careers has been one of the greatest parts of having a music school and gathering an artistic community like this. We look forward to what 2021 will bring!
We are so grateful to be back teaching music lessons again for another school year. Things look and feel different now that we have converted to mostly online. We still have our awesome location, a store front in downtown Leominster ready for when we get back to in-person lessons, but the online lessons are going very smoothly and we are lucky that we can continue teaching, learning and playing even through the pandemic. We are still offering lessons for all instruments and we have even added a trumpet teacher Brian Koning and piano teacher Maya Douglas. Both of these musicians are fantastic players and great teachers. We haven’t offered trumpet lessons in a while so it is good to be able to complete our roster and with such a fantastic musician. Brian plays in the Worcester jazz collective and also is a great composer and arranger. Maya is a fantastic classical pianist with a very unique style, and someone we are very excited to have on board. Late last semester a great singer and songwriter, Hannah Robuccio also joined our faculty and is accepting vocal students. Here’s a clip of Hannah https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zewHfz-tr9Q
We are so excited for the new school year! Getting three new fantastic teachers is so exciting for us and we are always passionate about having top notch faculty on our team and I think that is one of the things that makes our school so successful and one of the reasons our students excel!
Last spring and this summer’s lessons have been virtual… and it is going great! This is something we have been thinking about doing for years and we are so grateful that we were still able to provide lessons during the pandemic. We still have our space in downtown Leominster and are ready to start music lessons in person when parents and teachers feel it is safe, but in the meantime this is working so well, and in some ways is more convenient and more comfortable for students. Not only that but we were able to expand our student base and now are teaching students from all over the country. We also have added two amazing teachers to our already fantastic faculty list and truly feel so positive and optimistic about the upcoming season!
For my personal students, I have noticed that they have all become so much more independent since virtual lessons started in March. They have had to keep time (rhythm) by themselves and be completely independent as performers. I have found ways to have them perform with play-alongs, and youtube has turned out to be a great source for that, but the independence my students have gained playing alone, particularly rhythmically, has been a happy surprise for me.
I think online lessons are a thing everybody should try. For some people it works BETTER than in person lessons. Everyone is different but I suspect some students will choose to remain virtual even when in person lessons start back up. The pandemic forced us into a bit of an experiment with virtual lessons starting in March but I am so happy to report overwhelmingly positive results. I also know that we will continue to improve the virtual lessons experience with technology in sound and video, and this format will continue to expand!
